Sigurd 'Reserve' Semillon '21

About the wine: 

This Old-Vine Semillon is made from vines grown organically in Vine Vale for over 110 years. The unique sandy soils and low yields from these vineyards result in a concentrated and focused wine every year. The 2021 vintage, with its cooler and wetter conditions, allowed for a longer ripening period, giving the wine more finesse and structure.

After being picked in mid-February, the grapes were fermented in old French oak barrels, went through full malo and aged for 12 months before bottling. 
This wine offers a delightful profile of peach, white flowers, lemon, pear, and a touch of spice. It is a well-balanced and refreshing choice for wine enthusiasts.

Sigurd Wines is the brainchild of Daniel Graham, inspired by his great-grandfather's Nordic heritage. After gaining experience in various wine regions worldwide, he founded Sigurd Wines in 2012, focusing on organically grown grapes. Dan's winemaking philosophy revolves around minimal intervention, using indigenous yeasts and avoiding adjustments to acidity or tannins.
