In 2021, Wolf ventured into uncharted territory by aging premium Barossa cabernet in former Australian whiskey barrels. To explore diverse flavor profiles, a portion of the wine was aged in American oak while another portion in French oak. The remarkable contrast between the two is truly captivating. The 'French Oak Whiskey Barrel Aged' Cabernet effortlessly balances full-bodied richness with delicate flavours. Notes of vanilla bean, star-anise, and fresh raspberries grace the palate. The inviting aroma carries hints of jasmine flowers and warming baking spices like cinnamon, adding depth and complexity.

About the Producer:

Wolf Viergever embodies his Dutch heritage and Australian upbringing. Raised in the Barossa Valley, his family's printing background aligns with their love for wine. With roots in Den Haag and Bergen op Zoom, the Viergevers have been printing labels in the Barossa for generations, combining tradition with a modern touch. Wolf's winemaking journey began in the 90s, supplying fruit to local winemakers before returning to the industry in 2017. "The Shed," a collaborative workspace, became the birthplace of Lost Wolf Wine Co., where family and lifelong friends produce wine and brandy. Guided by Wolf's self-taught expertise, they source fruit and craft labels with care. Wolf is known as a passionate and innovative winemaker, turning his hobby into something extraordinary.
